About Supacut

Interview-driven films start with long conversations, not a shooting script. Supacut is a desktop app for that problem. It helps you explore themes, compare answers, surface strong soundbites, and build your selects before the edit.

It is not an NLE, and it does not edit the story for you. You stay in control. You still finish the film in the editor you already use. Export is XML for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and FCPXML for Final Cut Pro.

Video editors who regularly work with multiple interviews and hours of unscripted footage — documentary, branded content, corporate video, customer stories, and other interview-driven work. If you spend significant time reviewing interviews, making selects, and organizing material before the edit can begin, Supacut is built for you.

Original files stay on disk. Supacut does not modify them. Footage, transcripts, and project files stay on your machine. AI features use an API key you provide; those calls go to that provider, not to a Supacut media server.

supacut.io is the product site. You can buy the desktop app there. It also has a blog on interview-editing workflow, free browser tools that analyze pasted transcripts, and comparisons with tools editors already use.

The browser tools are not the desktop app. They send transcript text to be analyzed. The desktop app keeps media local.

The desktop app is $39 per year. App updates are included while the subscription is active. You bring your own API key for AI features.
